SerialLand is an effort to provide additional context for Serial’s reporting on the criminal justice system in Cleveland, Ohio, with a particular emphasis on issues of economic justice and modern-day activism.

SerialLand is researched and written by Rebecca Maurer, an attorney who lives and works in Cleveland, Ohio.  In her day job, Rebecca focuses on student loan law and policy and, in particular, helps companies establish a student loan benefit through their human resources department.  She also takes a substantial pro bono eviction defense case load.  Rebecca is on the board of Slavic Village Development and is the curriculum director for Minds Matter Cleveland.
